Description My first ever try at an Adoptable...it's also my first time drawing horses using this style. (spirit-style).

So here's my entry for #6 of sliverglass19's Adoptables Round 2.

Name: Xan
Breed: Classic Cream Champagne Slate Bacabello
Gender: Male
Powers: Telepathy
Signs/Tattoes: None
Age: Unknown

Noticable Features: Scarred (bitten) ears and a scarred face-(not shown)

-Background-

Xan was born underneath a starry sky, into a warrior-like herd. Much like the Spartans of legend, these bacabellos were known to be ruthless, powerful, and bask in the glory of protecting their sacred lands, or Prolieta.

However, Xan was born to be the complete opposite. While cunning, and proven to be a great warrior in battle, Xan was born with the power of telepathy. This caused him to be a trickster, knowing the deepest secrets of his comrades and blackmailing them to cater to his every whim.

He can be cocky and sometimes foolish...and gives the fillies a very Xan-induced-migraine.

As such, Xan was rebellious and also merciful which has proven to be a trait he had inheirted from his mother, before she had died weeks after he was weaned.

His father, Nike, who was the over-ruling tyrant of the herd, knew that Xan's traits could prove traitorous...especially with the upcoming war.

And so, Nike held a meeting with the higher warriors of Prolieta

Being the son of, Nike, Xan also was in the meeting.

Nike, spoke of an inpending invasion with the herds of the North.

Quidel, his older brother, discussed in using the newest of their soldiers (the half-bloods), to draw out the enemy, and ambush them. "Fresh meat" he described.

Outraged, Xan spoke out of turn, "How can you stand there and allow this? Those "half bloods" would give anything to protect Prolieta, how can you just sacrifice them like they are worth nothing!"

Because Xan, spoke out of turn, he disrespected, his blood line but also his father.

Not even his telepathy, could save him.

His father charged at him, stripping him of his jade piercings (on his ears) , and scarred the left side of his face.

Nike banished, his youngest, to leave Prolieta and never returned, for no one would allow a dishonorable "prince" to set hoof in their lands again.

He was forever known as Xan the Dishonorable.
---

I've had this idea for a while now, and I thought that Number Six looked perfect for him. Not sure if you can see it but...his ears look like a mess and now you know why!!

This is awesome! I love the backstory and the pose is really cute.

Just to clarify, and forgive me if you were already aware, eyebrows on horses doesn't automatically make it "spirit style." For it to be "spirit style" it has to actually be drawn in the style of the film. I dunno if that IS what you were doing here, but a lot of people mistakenly give credit to Spirit for simply having horses-with-eyebrows, and they really didn't invent it.

Anyway, this is a lovely entry! Thanks for applying!

This is my first time trying to draw in the spirit style, sadly....I was trying to to do my own spirit style but it ended up looking like this.

Anyway...I still need a lot of practice with me tablet!!!

Yuck...legs have always been a hassle for me...especially since I finally managed to get myself a tablet...this has been my practice!

Thanks so much for commenting!!!
