Description I've put too many things off
until tomorrow.

Tomorrow arrives
and my time is borrowed.

I don't make the time for me that I could
the time yesterday, I told myself I would.

I don't turn into that productive version of me
the one I convinced myself that I'd be.

What I've found is this:
tomorrow looks a lot like today.

Even more so
like yesterday.

If I don't do it today
when else will I do it?

There is no other day
but today, to wit.

So I've realized that I must look
at today in a whole new way.

I must ask myself a question
to keep yesterday at bay.

Tomorrow, when I look back at today,
will I be disappointed or proud?

There is only one way the me of tomorrow
will have an easier time than the me of now.

I have to do favors
for the me of tomorrow.

I have to plan now
to prevent his sorrow.

I have to sweat and strain
in this very moment, today.

Then tomorrow I can look back
and thank the me of yesterday.

You're quite welcome. Sometimes things that others say really resonate with me, and when that happens I try to pay close attention to my inner voice.
