It's the exact opposite for me. My mom is the one with the technology, all fancy and stuff. I'm the one with the little black and white cell phone that can only text, reply, and call. It does have an alarm so that's nice...
Anywayz, I think my sister taught me how to text and my mom taught me how to call. Huzzah!

OMG JEN I LOL'D AT "i don't know how to write back" but yeah, my mom and I also had this experience, because i got a touch screen and her's has a touch screen and a key board. and she asked me to help her out finding everything, [cuz sheesh, we all know why she couldn't ask, you know who] and so now, she texts me a lot.especially cuz i always work late at my job. i can text her to let her know i'll be home. without having to wake up my dad.
and i know you and your mom haven't been all that close. but i'm glad something so small can make it a lil better <3
