I always loved this Chinese Legend. And I always wanted to do something related to it.
According to the legend:
"An invisible thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break."
This was inspired by this photo: link by (I used to do this when I was a little girl and I loved the photo the minute I saw it.
)This was a very quick sketch I did on the restaurant after a marriage! xD (what a proper time to draw, I know! xD) I'm sorry for the excess of sketchiness on this.

Y u such a pain in the @$$????!!!!! Time: ~ 2 hours (to draw and paint)

What a sweet concept! I think the hands look great, the way they curve in borders the piece beautifully.

You recieved it has a valentine's card. Someone sent it to you so show you appreciation, either as a friend or something else, I dunno.
It was an "event" that DeviantArt made so people could share the love.
On that time you could contribute with a work or more, by changing the deviation's classification to this: "Community Projects / Holidays / 2013 / Be My Valentine". Changing it to this would allow people to sent deviations as postcards. :3
But you can't do that now, because Valentine's Day already passed. Hoped this explained a bit. ^^

Sim, concordo totalmente contigo. Eu adoro esboços, gosto imenso do aspecto "desmazelado" que dá origem a algo mais. Eu considero os esboços um dos tipos de desenhos mais puros que existem, pois é algo, por vezes não planeado, que sai tão naturalmente que acabo por ser extremamente sincero.

Cross hatch for clothes texture, pretty good technique.
The swirls of her hair look beautiful too.
But her clavicle. It's a bit not aligned.
And her shoulders aren't of the same length.
