Hey Devs!!!not too much to say here!! I said long time ago that I wanted to do a fanart of Hellboy (I remember I said it when I saw the movie at theatre!!) but because of work and loooooots of stuff, i couldn't find a little time to finish that first sketch ..... during my holidays I did another sketch, more simple than the first, and better done ... and i started cleaning it this evening! ^_^
This are the pencils for my rendition to the red hero!
Soon, the final art!

( NOTE > it is done with normal 2H pencil on white paper .... the change of color is just a CG edit ... nothing serious)

Nice. Hellboy is one of my favorite comic characters. I even do fanart myself from time to time, but nothing like this.

I don't think I can say much about this except that it looks amazing and the red on black really looks good considering the subjects in the picture. ^_^

totally awesome.......but the machine arm is the right arm not left........but it looks might awesome as it is so im not bothered by that.

no not hellboy's stone arm, the other dude's machine arm in the movie, its on his right.........but it doesnt matter the pic is kick ass either way!

I think in the comic he has both hands .... yeah ,you are right, but sorry, it goes really well with the composition right now ... anyway, I will see if I can fix that

you dont really need to becuase in the film they do make the mistake of lack of continuity and swap the arms in about two places.......but its looks kool as is, and one day.....i too will be able to draw comic style images like you!

pues para un boceto inicial en el q lo planteΓ© tardΓ© como 20 minutos.
Para este, unas 3 horas, entre mirar referencias para los personajes, pensar la composicion y hacerlo .... hacerlo es lo mas rapido ^^
espero q te guste la version final

I saved it to my HD and opened it in PS and then inversed the colors so I could see it better

si, es fanart de la peli ... pero he mantenido los trajes del comic (por ejemplo, en rasputin, o en Hellboy, incluso en liz - fijate en la manga blanca de la camisa, contrastando con el negro del fondo ...). TambiΓ©n he dibujado a Sammael, q en los comics es mas una rana q un bicho.
He mezclado un poco conceptos, para interpretar el mio propio .... espero q haya salido bien

even though you say itΒ΄s a sketch, it looks to me that with a little tinkering could look like a lithograph. For example, like adding shadows to HBΒ΄s chin using a pattern... or even better, using the red on black theme, make it like a sanguine and add some effects to make it look old (dots, cracks, ink blots) , like something out of davinciΒ΄s works? . Right now, it seems like you putted red crayon or oil based media then painted over with black ink and then scratch to reveal the red ... OOOooo nummy ... kinda working backwards, putting out to reveal instead putting in to add... oh, I forgot. Like your interpretation of HB.

I was thinking about to add a kind of frame with that tchulu shapes that Mignola add in his pin ups ... kinda ruins
and yes, it will have a kind of old school coloring, with desaturated tones.
