I always love to practice paintings with different aesthetic people? I don't know how to name it but I like the challenge of drawing people that do not frequently pop out in society - or at least from what I am used to know anyway (though this is an actor and probably some know him so idk if this counts XD).

Anyway, I followed him on instagram since I've watched the Mayans (not inspiring at all my ELER story and some traits of Eler himself XD) and when he posted this photo I simply knew I had to paint it! I think he has disclosure part of his past but everything on the original photo made me almost feel like I could imagine what he had went through and that he probably still doesn't forget about it now that he has a different life. Idk, maybe I just interpretated too much of it XD

The smoke was so challenging, as well as the tattooed body but that's what made me more excite to draw him. The hands were also a pain in the ass because, regardless of his "tough" vibe, his hands were positioned gently. I think that's what make me like more about the original photo and I think I managed to portray it somehow.

I'm happy with the outcome! I spent several hours making sure I would not rush and ruin everything. I think even if the smoke is not 100% I'm still proud I managed to make it look decent XD
