For all of the complaining everyone on the Internet both inside and outside of the Anime and video game fandom do about weeaboos, I sure don't see many who seriously fit the description. There use to be a few at one time, but I think all of the ridicule has made them gone extinct, or at least made them endangered. Nine out of ten times, when someone cries weeaboo, they're being duped by a troll account that is made to parody a stereotypical weeaboo.Even the anti-weeaboo group on dA has an empty screenshot folder. Lots of hate art. No actual screenshots of "OMGEE I R SO KAWAII DESU AND I LURV NARUTO AND WANT TO MARRY SASUKE AND HAVE A THREESUM WITH HIM AND SAKURA THEN MOVE TO JAPAN SO I CAN BECOME A MANGA-KA DESU!!!1!!!"
Liking Japan doesn't make you a weeaboo, nor does liking anime and video games, or enjoying the occasional cosplay. Wanting to be Japanese, acting like you're Japanese, or revolving your ENTIRE LIFE around Japanese media does.

Honestly, while they may exist, I feel like there are more weeaboo haters than weeaboos. But that's probably a good thing. I'd get damn annoyed if they were too common. Though all of the stupidity that comes from the haters is annoying too. I just don't give a fuck about either.

Personalty, I don't think Weeaboo is even a valid insult, in every country people who does it. I mean... everybody probably something that isn't really national, but other thinks their extreme about... I mean everybody have a view that done something so hardcore expressive on certain thing. My point is that the Weeaboo we hear or just want to be patriotic, which I should care what they do. I mean... if they make you cringe that much, just walk to the other side, and hope they false illusion just sink down to hell like us.
I wish there was a stamp that said "If someone is a so called Weeaboo... So what? Just move on to your life" or "I don't see the point of care nor insulting someone who is"

Exactly. I have never seen anyone actually going around saying "OMG KAWAII DESU" in real life or online, but I have seen plenty of rabid anti-weeaboos who will rip your head off just for liking anime >.>
At this point "weeaboo" is just becoming a term for people to bully anime fans.
I like some anime. I like some Japanese foods and clothing. I think they make cute plushes and things. Also, I've made rice balls before. Are you going to slaughter me too? If weeaboos make you that angry, then I think you have bigger problems than them.

I agree with you. I haven't encountered any weeaboo on the internet, nor have I really met one in real life. One of my friends told me that she used to be a weeaboo when she was younger but thank God I did know her while she was at that stage.Β

They do exist, but they're not as common as people assume. Most "weeaboos" nowadays are just preteens who are new to anime/manga and end up growing out of their weebiness after a year or so.

It's been months since she she threw her last bitchfit about me causing her all her "pain and misery" (Yeah right, SHE came to my gallery first to boss me around like I was her property) But I'm still miffed that people are still supporting this bitch. I mean, there are so many great, yet humble artists out there on dA who have little to no attention at all (one of my favorite artists has deactivated because of this)-why are they supporting someone like this instead?

Many of them have grown out of the "OMG JAPAN MUST BE ALL ABOUT ANIME" phase and turned it into a serious interest in the culture and language, not just a mere anime/manga fetish. Others just move on to whatever else is popular on the Internet now... which is a shame, because they could have taken the opportunity to study a new language.

I knew 2 real life weeaboos one went to japan with my boyfriend and he ended up ditching her because she was embarrassing him so much, and the other girl, I crosplayed sasuke when I was a freshman in middle school and she was so obsessed with the character that she thought she was for real married to him. So instead of me being able to spend time with my new girlfriend on halloween, I was chased all night by a damn weeaboo. I wasn't happy.

from what i've seen, they're a dying species. Or they get over the weeaboo phase, and act much calmer. In my personal opinion, "weeaboo" isn't so much a hardcore stereotype than it is a phase. Anime fans, or manga readers get so wrapped up in it, they become weeaboos for a while. When they become tired of anime/manga/pocky 24/7, or when they see how silly they look, they get over it. I'll probably get stabbed for saying this, but yes, i went through that phase as well sometime in middleschool. But then I realized that i looked stupid and got over it

Pretty much the weeaboos are hiding somewhere...Youtube possibly,possibly they're putting videos of recolored screenshots they colored in MS Paint trying to make it seem it's their OC but it's not,is it just me or do i feel like they're hiding on Youtube and they won't take one step on DA soil...but knowing me i love anime but i'm not a weeaboo myself which i'm lucky.

Though, there is sort of a group at my school. They're not really friends *because* of anime, it just seems that they all like it. They keep it to themselves, and most of them really aren't that bad. I used to be somewhat of a weeaboo myself, but many of us go through that phase.

I agree, there are definitely more weeaboo haters than weeaboos. I know someone who does nothing but complain about the "crazy weeaboos" out there on DA, YouTube, etc...but I don't really find any. I find what I consider otakus - people who are big fans of anime/manga/asian culture/etc, but they're not all "OMG KAWAII DESU I WANNA BE NARUTOS LUVR DESU" like people seem to think.

Most of my friends are weeaboos ;-; They talk about yaoi, having a character's children, how they want to move to Japan, say "desu","chan", and "nani?" a LOT. They learn Japanese by watching anime, they love a TV show because it is anime, ect, ect. It gets annoying being the only one who doesn't draw in the Japanese style.
