Something I did for the upcoming new year quiz~
This is my OC, Carmen. She's the black-haired girl from Photograph and S U G A R . And yes, she's the girlfriend of my other OC, Freyja. Anyway, this is another attempt at back-light by me. To be perfectly honest, it was difficult. And I'm still not 100% satisfied with how Carmen's hair turned out. But the current me have no idea how to fix it. I'm SO sorry.
Tools: SAI for overall painting, PS CS6 for text and minor adjustment.

Firat off the bat: she looks amazing, and I would love to see a whole anime drawn like this. Absolutely stunning.
Then, on the hair: I think it might be a bit too soft, as if it was blurred or feathered too much. I think slightly harder lines mixed in would solve it - the backlight itself looks quite good to me. Maybe a few more deviant strands to accentuate her movement would bring more dynamic to her turn.
