Oh my God! Thank you so much!! Err, fimo. Suppose the american version would be sculpy. But you can get it here --> [link] And any decent craft store i guess. You could probably ask and theyd order it in for you. Its made by a company called EBERHARD FABER if thats any help.

That's pretty neat, what material did you use to sculpt them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheLadyPope In reply to LostKitten [2008-07-01 16:43:49 +0000 UTC]

Cheers. It's that wierd FIMO clay that you bake in the oven. You dont see it around alot, most of the time you have to order it, ever heard of it?

Can't say I have... I toyed with ceramic mostly... was a few years ago now.

I got angry with ceramics a while back for going all crumbly on me and were not exactly on speaking terms anymore. Fimos kind of like playdough so its not exactly the crumbly type. its great if youre a really impatient sculptor theres no water or anything, you just poke it until it resembles something. It comes in different colours in little square packets. Im pretty sure you can get whole boxes of it on amason for dirt cheap.

Ah Amazon doesn't always like to ship out here.. but I'll have to look into it.

I sculpted this awesome cat-lady bust in high school for an art class... and the stupid art teacher didn't use the correct kiln settings and blew our creations to pieces. I was so proud of that figurine too... I even had a ceramic "teacher" of sorts paint the perfect eyes on her. (My family and I would go to this shop on Tues. and Thrus. night to paint ceramic pieces... part of the stores promotional methods.) Stupid teacher lady.

You should sue. I think its only fair. Ceramic painting, sounds cool. Wish we had something like that to do round here. Its mostly just trees and fields. Theres mini courses and things that pop up every once in a blue moon but never enough to stop you loosing your mind.

Yea.. actually I think that shop went out of business. It was cool though.. it became like a family affair for a few people including my family. Then all the kids moved out the house and the parents lost time to go I guess... eventually the shop got shut down. Now I think the people who own it sell signs? It's pretty lame... but I guess things like that just happen with time.

aww, well that sucks. Its nice when things like that are around, pity it got shut down. Thats kind of weird bout the whole sign thing tho. I would have thought that a ceramics shop would do alot better than a shop that ,yknow, sells signs, with or without their kids help. (youre probably not supposed to put commas in all those places but unfortunately punctuation is not my thing) But i suppose if the parents felt they didnt have time to keep it open i suppose thats just the way things go. Pity tho.

Ah well actually it was run by two gay guys I think one had cancer if I recall correctly. They may have just decided to give up on it or something, but it does suck because it was an awesome place to hang out and I was sad when I found out they weren't there anymore.

Don't worry about punctuations that much! It's just a bunch of dots and squiggles anyway. The only time you have to be even the slightest bit concerned is when you're writing something for the public to see. I'm not a grammar nazi though, so don't worry about it.

Good to know bout the whole grammar thing. Although i do know people who would kill me for my gross misuse of punctuation.

Hope that guy was okay in the end.
