Description I tried to record myself drawing this but apparently my laptop hates recording programs so after I was finished I went to stop the recording and check out the file and...it crashed on me. Goodbye, speed painting dreams. At least I got to keep the picture!

I went to Beach City con this weekend and met Grace Kraft, who works on the Steven Universe comics. I bought one of her little mini zines called Star Crossed. She had some other little zines with Amethyst, which were very cute, but I couldn't help being more interested in this other zine. Despite my love for the show, I kept glancing back to this other zine with a fawn running through the woods. It looked so original and different, and I could tell there was a story going on in its pages. I had to check it out! And I am so glad I did. It is too precious! It's about the friendship between a fawn (the mythical, half-man half-deer type) and a harpy--and that is the most adorable little harpy I have ever seen. I had to draw both! The zine was black and white so I made this picture black and white too. I like to imagine both characters are really shades of brown, but without Word of God to tell, I don't really want to color this. Nevertheless, I added a little gray shading to try to make it pop more! I recommend grabbing one of her zines if you can; she was selling hers for 5 dollars at the convention, and I think it was well worth it. She signed mine and drew a little Lapis inside for me c: (Lapis is my favorite character in Steven Universe). I'm keeping my copy of her zine in a safe place so it doesn't get damaged.

Thanks to learning about zines at the convention and Grace Kraft's directions, I am now working on making some zines of my own. I have folded a couple sheets of paper properly already! Hopefully by the time the convention rolls around next year I'll have some of my own to pass out!
