BAT-MAN!!...and Beyond of course. I really like the intense; "I'm going to kill you" mood that comes off this image. Nicely done once again!

a lot of people hate this show, and I don't know why.
I loved it. Blight is like, the best bad guy EVER

I didn't get into it until I saw him on JLU and it helped me get into it .... It's hard to see your favorite hero changed, so thats probably why people couldn't get into it.....

This is possible, that series had some really great characters, and an awesome story.
I mean
batman beyond - return of the joker was like. intense. REALLY INTENSE.
Tim Drake has been my favorite Robin since I read "Knightfall" despite the insane "death in the family" book.
So seeing my poor booboo go through what he went through was like.. aughhhhh tears.

yea man, Return of the joker actually had to be reissued because it was too intense for cartoon network and WB, so the dvd is the directors cut, but the tv version was definitely toned down! I am glad they didn't treat it with kid gloves

Yeah I know.
The whole Batman team has probably got to be my favorite creative animating group of all time.

I suppose, the first season was really great, but the second season seemed like they were just grabbing for viewers.
But, anything with the martian manhunter makes me happy XDD
Have you seen batman : brave and the bold?
It's actually pretty excellent

I can only watch that show for so long, the episodes I've seen seem too childish, but I have seen some that seem pretty interesting..... I can't call it yet, so I am still on the fence.

They are just... Campy. But they had an AMAZING episode that had normal Batman, Knightfall Batman, Dark Knight returns batman, the one where he gets turned into a Vampire (haven't read it) and a few others. So, so awesome

So the whole episode is available there, but I picked the last sequence because in that time you see all of the Batmans coming out of a portal.
Reaaaaaally awesome.
Also notice, they used the design for the "classic" joker. The golden age one. Which is also pretty radical.

while i was watching it, it made me realize why I don't get into it.... it's a very well done show, but it reminds me of a powerpuff girl version of Batman. I can't see him as anything other than a Dark Knight so this is very hard on me lol I was hoping the batman beyond would have been a part of it, but I think they kept it to those characters that have been done in Elseworld comics. Thanks for sharing the link with me=] Clownface.... that was too funny=]

Yeah XD
It is very toned down but compared to The Batman, I think this show gives kids a good idea of who batman REALLY is. And it's a great way to showcase some awesome characters, like the red tornado and plastic man.
you can tell the people who made the show really know comics pretty well X))

If only I could draw this crisply on the subway.
This piece captures the vibe of the show while still showcasing the style you've developed for yourself. It works out well.
I used this for a bit of coloring practice. Mind if I upload it?

go for it man, I'd love to see it=]
the detailed lines I do once the train stops or when the ride gets a lil smooth.... when it's more rough, thats when i worry more about form and shape. I've been sketching on the subway for about 5 years now so I am getting more and more use to it.

There you go: [link]
I've been able to work occassionaly on the bus. Rough sketched only, nothing this refined. I've tried working on the Subway but lately I've been standing more than sitting, and when sitting too distracted by either music or compatriots.

the bus is the hardest to draw on, the roads out here are too damn bumpy.... I am usually alone on the train and try to find those key seats so I can get some drawing done=] I can't front though, i refined it a bit more at home, so that helped=] I saw the thumbnail and I can't wait to go see it!

Oh, one small note. The Batman Beyond suit did have a mouth, it might be a good idea to at least indicate the location of the mouth, since it was one of the few things visible on that suit besides the silhouette, heh. They always drew shadows in a way that showed the mouth, and you could see Terry's teeth (or something white, anyway), when Terry's mouth moved.

I just read on Wikipedia that a live action Batman Beyond movie was being planned as early as 2001. I hope they make it a reality some time soon. It said something about Keanu Reeves playing Terry. God I hope not. Reeves is a crummy actor and is too old to pass for a teen. >.<

say word, I didn't know that was going on. I drew him because I've wanted to for a while and when i was working the figure, one of my kids at work had a BB book so I just used his character to complete the details=] glad you like it man=]
