tribal marine corp logo (rough draft) copyright 2010Look, I drew this as a favor for a deserving veteran who asked for something 'a little different' but close to the original. This is HIS.
I will post one soon for your tattoos, please let this Marine have his own design, he's earned it

(p.s. I changed 'former' to 'deserving' after many of you (including one comment here) reminded me there is no 'former', once a Marine always a Marine. My best freind is a Marine who served 2 tours in Iraq, and I should have known better. Thank you for the correction

Todd, would you mind if I used this as a concept for my first ink? I was going to go the trad route but then I spotted several tribal EGA tats and decided that was the direction for me. I served in the mid 70's and this will be my first ink. I would be honored if you had the time to draw something up for me, the local shops don't seem to be to focused on tribal designs. Thanks

I like it! My boy friend's also in the marines. He asked me to draw a tattoo similar but, I put a snake (representing terrorism), coiling around the globe and the eagle (that'd be us! W00T!!) ripping it with its talons and beak. And of course, the anchor is somehow stabbed through the snakes poor pathetic body.
I still need to figure out where and what to do with our flag. So far it looks pretty awesome now but, I'm still bouncing around ideas and changing things around.
But yes, your version is pretty wicked and bad ass. I'm a huge fan of tribal tattoos. You did an amazing job with this. I hope to see the final copy someday.

There is, but this is an original tattoo designed for someone who didn't want to have the same USMC tat everyone else had, and it was specifically designed for him. (would sorta defeat that purpose if I just gave it away to everyone.)
