She's my (main) Hawke BFF (with benefits )! Well, she and Varric, of course... Except without the "benefits" part in Varric's case (only because he didn't want to! Lol!).

I actually kinda like the fact that Varric seems to be committed to everyone, and no one at the same time. He's the guy that watches everyone's back (often without their direct knowledge) making sure that his friends stay safe.

It's like he's so busy caring for everyone, that he doesn't have any time left for a one-on-one exclusive relationship.

Many of the nicknames he gives his companions (Daisy, Sunshine, Blondie) sound very affectionate. Wait a minute... That's Merrill, Bethany, and Anders.

While Elf, Rivaini, Choir-Boy, and Junior (more neutral sounding) are Fenris, Isabela, Sebastian, and Carver...

Not to mention that Varric uses his contacts (and pays a lot of money) to protect both Merrill and Anders, specifically.

HE TOTALLY HAS A THING GOING ON FOR MAGES! THIS IS 100% CANON I TELL YOU!!!

I also love that the only one he seems completely unable to relate to is Sebastian! Varric's a man after my own heart...

Actually, Varranders is a surprisingly popular pairing on the Anders thread on BSN... Lol! Some of the fanmade banters for them are hilarious!

Though, I think it was created in response to Fenders (that many still refuse to acknowledge as REAL! There's sadly so much denial still going around...).

Well, Anders did try to give Varric his beloved pillow... Oh, and suggested declaring to him his undying love at some point too!

But yeah, Varric/Anders is probably more bromance territory.
