Okay people, so this is a portrait of Eric Bana, took me abou 3 and a half hours to finish. I had reference of a picture. I wanted to continue doing the hair but then I was afraid of messing it up because the picture from which I drew it from was cut of too. Eric Bana is my favorite male actor, and one of his most beautiful roles ( in my opinion ) was of Hector from "Troy" or as many will know (those who read the book) "The Illiad" by Homer. He, to me at least, is one of the most handsome man alive(after Carlos D) lol....so I hope You enjoy it!Medium: B2 pencil, B2 Graphite, HB pencil.

I think its mostly kids who do that. Its a trend at the moment and i hope it will fade away. Just try to find some artist you like to learn from their art & forget the rest. That is what I do.

Yes that is exactely what I do...oh You might want to chek out this artist her name is Elizabeth Payton, I saw her exhibition a couple of weeks back, she's excelent. Yes, well I try to be like Vermeer and Rembrandt, not to mention da Vinci..but that is impossible. However I do love Vermeer's works the best....I like his compositions...and I love Rembrandt's glazing and the use of lights in the face...all that I need is practice...that comes with time..so I have a long way to go since I am only 18.

Oh yes, I know what You mean. In my school I have a teacher who's just so amaizing, he used to stady how to paint as all of these traditional artists do, so he gives me a lot of tips on how to mix colours and such. However, he always says that in my painting I need little help. On the other hand, I always come to him for critisism, he's like my secon pair of eyes. See I usually like it better when people tell me my flaus rather than praise me. Then I know what I need to improve on. I practice a lot though, especially with faces and techniques. Well I'm of to pain "The Girl With a Pearl Earring" wish me luck.

I think you will not often get real critique on your work here. But if you have somebody you accept as a teacher for his own talents it is the best way to improve. And I wish you luck

Fuck yeah Eric Bana rocks... You really should see "Chopper" if you haven't already, he's a bit chubbier, but it was the Aussie film that got him all his other roles, brilliant performance and one of the best (my personal fav) Aussie films ever... Oh and the old sketch comedy characters he used to do were fucking hilarious.
The resemblance is great... and I love the way you shade and your texturing techniques (shirt and stubble stand to mind)... keep it up. Awesome work.

OMG yay!!!!!!! I didn't like Brad Pitt or Orlando Bloom in Troy at all......Orlando can't act for his life and Brad is a bitch in real life and it makes him look bad in the movie...but Eric just outsone them all! He was sooo amaizing as Hector.....

He did make a great Hector! I didn't mind Brad so much (though he does sound like a bitch in real life, at least lately) but Orlando was too much of a sissy. But I'm not a real big Orlando Bloom fan anyway.
