ok then 1st open the drawing then create a layer and set the mode to multiply and now color the drawing and dont worry about accuracy cause you can erase .if you do any mistake as you made a layer and you can make more layers.hope that helps.

Oh okay so if I understand correctly:
1) Open the drawing in GIMP
2) Create a new layer
3) Set that layer to multiply
4) Colour
5) Fix on individual layers later

I'm trying to do something like this but instead of drawing it just import it and go straight to the colouring part. Do you recommend this? xD I'm sorry I'm such a noob when it comes to colouring.

oh no i just meant use scanned lineart from my sketchbook~ I tried this method out and it worked pretty well! I need to practice more but thank you!
