Solemn serenity marks the passage of time
Slowly emotions get numb and die
Passionate embraces no longer exist
It becomes easier to laugh than cry
Pleasurable moments exist as memories
Disappearing like ashes blown in the wind
The embers of love have long grown cold
Marital bliss has come to a sorrowful end
Dividing your lives can be judicially impaired
You can’t split family and friends down the middle
Trying to establish some sort of neutral grounds
Is similar to solving an unsolvable riddle
You pick up the pieces of your shattered world
Your heart aching for someone else to love
You search in vain for a person that doesn’t exist
Looking for perfection or some semblance thereof
While on this quest you were too blind to see
A love like none you had ever felt before
A heart so gentle and easy for you to hold
A woman so loving and easy to adore
She patiently waited until your heart was ready
Being a friend when what she wanted was so much more
Her heart breaking at the pain that you had to endure
Holding it in until she couldn’t stand it anymore
Holding you close and whispering softly in your ear
Please don't cry love I will always be here
Gently kissing your cheeks that have been stained by tears
She taste your lips and whispers I love you
It’s not the end...it’s the beginning
