Description Visions In Stained Glass
By
Mark A. Brickey

Gazing at life through a stained glass window
Viewing its perspectives one hue at a time
Never grasping all it has to offer
The colors of the rainbow are blind to the minds eye

Seeing the red of a rose in full bloom
The deep blue of a lovely ocean view
The green of the trees just before it rains
The yellow of the sun as it peaks at high noon

Would the rose be so lovely without the dark green leaves?
The ocean so beautiful without the white capped waves
The tree’s so vibrant less the cold gray skies
The sun so powerful without the warmth of its rays

Open the stained glass window and let the colors merge
Feel the passion of the world as was meant to be
Open your mind to the many aspects of the universe
To view it in one color would be a travesty

I love this poem and it's reminder to me that this world is made up of color, of good feelings when it is noticed. It is nice it reads smooth and in the end you find yourself whispering the lines. It is beautiful.
