having Rey new lightsaber be yellow confirmed my suspicions about yellow lightsaber blade, that being a kyber crystal only turns yellow when a force-user is completely balanced in both the light and the dark. 

with a blue and green lightsaber blade being the standard lightside blade colors and the purple lightsaber blade represent someone who walks in the light but they flirt with the dark side, and then there's red which only exist when a Kyber crystal made to bleed and the white lightsaber which is a successful purification / healing of a bleeding kyber Crystal and then there's the darksaber which we have no clue how what cause Crystal to turn black. if I had to take a guess the temple guard lightsaber Pike yellow kyber Crystal was probably repurposed from an ancient Jedi lightsabers that would have been in the Jedi orders possession, . since the Jedi Temple guards were just regular Jedi Knights that probably had a regular blue or green lightsaber that they used when they weren't on their guard shift.
