Description

A Buick Reatta that I saw in someone's yard. Although these cars were originally front-wheel drive/V-6 cars I saw one of these modified with a small block Chevy engine and a narrowed Ford 9 inch rear-end at the drag strip several years ago and it was wicked fast and looked cool too!

Note: The Buick Reatta was a low-volume transverse front-engine, front-wheel drive, two-door, two-seater grand tourer/sports car manufactured and marketed by Buick as a coupe (1988–1991) and convertible (1990-1991) — both featuring a 3.8 liter V6 engine and shortened version of the GM E platform, the same one that underpinned the Buick Riviera.

We had one of these once, it was a neat little car. We never had any mechanical problems with it either, it was pretty reliable. We ended up selling it when the touch screen panel went out, there's no other way to control things when it goes out. replacements are still expensive, though I wonder how hard it would have been to set up some kind of tablet or something. (Probably damn near impossible.)

My Neice had a Ford Ecplise with the same problem. After the touch screen went out nothing much worked. She sold it for almost nothing.

We had considered putting an engine out of an SSEi into ours, the supercharged 3.8 and do all the headwork and so on to get as much as we could out.
My SSEi is about 80% done and should be putting 300 hp down. Imagine that in something smaller like the Reatta! If it wasn't for emissions I'd consider doing that to my 2002 Grand Am. (Wouldn't mind a small turbo for some extra pep but I honestly don't think the ECU would know what to do.)
