You have found the weirdest El Camino ever. What the heck is this?! I like it for it's quirkiness.

You sure about that?
That front end looks an awful lot like a Chrysler design.

It's the same front end as on a 1984-1988 Monte Carlo SS.

American cars in the 80s all kind of looked like that, but Chrysler didn't make a Ute in the 80s, the only American company that did was GM.

The Dodge Rampage wasn't much of a ute, being based on a compact car, but it was produced from 1980 to 1984.
A Plymouth version, the Scamp, was offered in 83.

Does this look anything like a Rampage or a Scamp?

The Ford Ranchero was produced from 1957 - 1979.

Well, I was wrong anyways, Ford made the Fairmont-based Durango until 1982.

Thank you for that. Β I didn't know that existed. Β I can't say who made the best looking one as none of them suit my taste. Β Which do you like the best?

I like the 1972 Ford Ranchero the best myself. FoMoCo really got it right with that design... and promptly ruined it with a refresh in 1973.
