This is a fan made theory, now there are a couple of theories about who is Diamond Tiara’s mother. First off there is the theory about Screwball being her mother, this is probably the most popular of all of them. This is my favorite of the theories in fact, and it has created bit of fanon among the Bronies. The second would be that Princess Cadence is her mother this one is not as well-known, but it is unique to say the least. What I found funny about this theory is that fandom joke about Cadence loving tiaras, oh the irony. The third one I’ve noticed is the one that Nurse Sweetheart is her mother. Out of the three she actually looks the most like Diamond Tiara. In the end all three of them share a lot similarity to Diamond Tiara.After much analyzing I’ve come up with my own theory that Diamond Tiara’s mother might actually be the mother of Rarity and Sweetie Belle. Now keep reading I have some evidence to back up my claim. My theory first began when I noticed how much Diamond Tiara and Sweetie Belle looked alike. Maybe it’s just that rich girl feel they both share, but I’ve found them to look a lot alike.
If you noticed they actually share the same three colors pink, purple and white. Now Diamond Tiara has a pink coat, and a purple and white mane and tail. Sweetie Belle on the other hand has a white coat, and a purple and pink mane and tail. Just delete Sweetie Belle’s horn and remove Diamond Tiara’s tiara, and they do look really similar. Now this was just meaningless speculation until I saw Rarity’s entire family. Rarity is white, Sweetie Belle is white and Rarity’s father is white. But Rarity’s mother on the other hand is pink, she even has a purple mane, different from Diamond Tiara’s though.
By the way, have you noticed that Rarity’s entire family has blue eyes except Sweetie Belle who has green eyes? Diamond Tiara also has blue eyes, now that’s something completely different, but it made me think of another idea. That maybe Diamond Tiara and Sweetie Belle could have been switched at birth. In a lot of ways I can imagine Rarity being a lot like Diamond Tiara when she was a filly. I don’t think Rarity was a bully, but I can imagine her being kind of a snob when she was younger.
Now with all the evidence gathered I’ve created the theory that Rarity’s mother sometime before she had Sweetie Belle, was pregnant with Diamond tiara. Now Diamond Tiara seems to be a little older than Sweetie Belle, but it is possible that they are twins. There are a few possibilities on how she would be Diamond Tiara’s mother. It all depends on how you view it, for all we know she could of had had an affair with Filthy Rich. Or maybe Filthy Rich isn’t Diamond Tiara’s real father, like I said it all depends on how you view it. In closing Diamond Tiara and Sweetie Belle might be sisters, stepsisters, or were possible switched at birth. All in all just sit back, enjoy my theory, and let your minds wonder.

I used to think that she and Silver Spoon were sisters but MLP told other wise and, now, my theory is that Diamond´s mom is a backround pony from Rainbow Falls and,thus, an atlete who´s not in home much so she suffers from her parents not noticing her.There´s not much evidence to prove this except that theý are almost identical.

Wait but Diamonds Father buy all the rainbow apples and such a stuff from the Applefamily and whe you watch the episode where Raritys Father and Mother are in her Houee (cuz of that Sweetie Belle is sister of Rarity so they are too her parents) so Diamond cant have two fathers so she is nto her sister

Um... They share a mother. That makes them half-sisters. Half-sisters are still sisters. If a woman has a child, then the father walks out on them, then the mother remarries and has another child with her second husband, are the two children not siblings?

That is true but WE DONT KNOW if they have the same mother there is no connection betwen them in the show if it would Sweetie belle, Rarity or at last Diamond Tiara would say anythink about that they are sisters or somethink like that so by this i say that this is just funmade nothink truth...

Interesting theory, there, good sir. I'd have to say that it is somewhat of a strange one, but I see how it could work. I'd actually personally have to say that the Screwball theory is also a very good one. We all know that Screwball is Discord's daughter, and Discord is the god of chaos. Diamond Tiara has caused her fair share of chaos, but then again, so has Sweetie Belle. Hmm, here's a hypothesis for you. What if Magnum and Screwball got together while he and Rarity's mother were on a break, thus making Diamond Tiara Sweetie Belle's half sister, making them look slightly alike, and making her have a similar personality to filly Rarity. It would also give her blue, normal looking eyes from her father's side. Magnum and Rarity's mom got back together and had Sweetie Belle. He never wanted his wife to find out about his affair with Screwball, so he left Diamond Tiara in her care. Screwball was obviously not fit to be a mother, so she left her foal up for adoption. Filthy Rich became her foster father, she never found out about her past, and the rest is history.

I was knitting a scarf with purple, pink, and white, and I was thinking that the scarf looked like Sweetie Belle in terms of colour. Then I realized that Diamomd Tiara shared those colours, and that Sweetie's mother is pink. Anyway, I really like how you explained the theory
