Hello my darlings.You have been kidnapped, ahead of you are two ponies Fluttershy and Diamond Tiara. You are giving a knife, and a choose, kill Fluttershy or kill Diamond Tiara. Kill one of them and the other goes free, but if you don't kill either of them, than they both will die. Now before you give your obvious answer, I would really like you to think about it for a second.
If you really know Fluttershy's character, than you know that she cares about everypony no matter what. The truth is Fluttershy would give up her own life if it meant saving a young fillies life. Would you really kill Diamond Tiara, even going against Fluttershy's own wishes. Knowing full well that she wouldn't be able to live with herself, if she only survived because a filly died in her place.
Please, give us a real answer, not a fake troll answer, put some actually thought into it.

1. Diamond is just a kid. Fluttershy is like a cousin to me
2. Diamond wasn't rude on purpose, she was forced. Fluttershy is too sweet to end.

I've thought about this for a while...and I would kill Fluttershy.
Diamond Tiara is just a filly, and killing her now after the latest episode where she played a major role would be cruel. Plus, like you said, Fluttershy would much rather she died than have Diamond Tiara die. Also, Diamond Tiara gets enough backlash as it is (or at least, she used to, not sure if she still does), so I wouldn't want to put her through more torment. Oh, and about Flight To The Finish, one of my friends made an interesting point that Diamond Tiara didn't understand the concept of being handicapped all that well.
I've heard people make the argument that since Fluttershy is one of the mane six, she would be important to Equestria, but how important has she been LATELY? Sure, the Season 5 Finale showed her being helpful through previous experiences. We have proved that, in the Return of Harmony, all of the ponies that bear the Elements of Harmony would have to stop the enemies, but the Elements of Harmony technically don't exist anymore. Plus, it's Twilight Sparkle that's doing all of the important stuff lately.
So yeah, I'd kill Fluttershy, and promise to take care of her animals. I'd make it as painless as possible, though.

Murder? Death is an escape, and that would be the easy way out.
I would find the ones responsible, and subject them to non-lethal torture methods that deal with overwhelming pain. To inflict suffering without killing, that is the very definition of "cruel mercy".

I'd stab myself first, not fatally, but enough that I start bleeding heavily.Β Then, I pretendΒ to kill Fluttershy, thus "fulfilling" my terrible objective.Β I use the blood from my wound to make theΒ performance convincing.Β When the coldhearted, irredeemable scumbag that organized this whole event enters, thinking I killed Fluttershy and thus letting their guard down, IΒ will turn on themΒ and kill them.Β By this point, my self-inflicted injury will overcome my body and I will begin to fade.Β Fluttershy will begin weeping, but I will hold her hood and let her know that I loved her and that I don't want her to blame herself for my death, as it was my choice, and, in a choice between her death and mine, it would always have to be me.Β I will then address a horrified and emotional Diamond Tiara, telling her that I chose this path because I believed she has a chance to redeem herself.Β I will then beseech her to change her view of the Cutie-Mark Crusaders, and 'blank flanks" in general.Β I will then say goodbye to the two of them, and darkness will overtake me.

seriously?! Everyone would kill Diamond Tiara, making Fluttershy suffer and probably commit suicide anyway... JEEZ if it's what Fluttershy would want I say kill Fluttershy if theres no way round it... I know bullies are horrible people, I was bullied all my life, but thats kids for you, some will grow up to become great people, maybe even your friend one day... Diamond Tiara is just a filly, she has her whole life ahead of her, a whole life to learn from her mistakes, and become a better pony, learning the magic of friendship over time... At one point in our lives in some way or another we have been a bully ourselves, even if it is just insulting someone that once bullied you in the past, that makes you a bully then... Diamond Tiara would learn from this, make Fluttershy proud, and probably become the most well behaved pony ever, joining the Crusaders in time... If there was any other way around it, I would kill myself cuz I love Fluttershy so much, or I would kill the one forcing me to kill... In a way killing Fluttershy would be doing what Fluttershy would want... So Diamond Tiara, you will live on! BUT! You are to change your ways, or I will kill you as well as Fluttershy! (this would be her lesson)

I don't have to think long about it; I would kill Diamond Tiara.
And about Fluttershy, if she really would offer to sacrifice herself to save Diamond Tiara's life and feel guilty for it that a filly died so that she can live after I have killed DT, it would not change my decision.
Being alive and feeling bad because somepony else died for you may be hard, but being dead is harder and even if she would feel extremely guilty, this is a wound that heals over time and with dedication and care for her, I could make her feel better again after some time and make her realize that DT's death is not her fault and that she doesn't have to feel responsible for it.
Fluttershy would overcome that and recover again after some time and she is kind and nice to everypony and doesn't deserve to die, so I would never kill her.
While Diamond Tiara has nothing better to do than to torment other ponies and she enjoys it when they feel miserable and this has not gotten better since this picture was uploaded, no, it has gotten much worse since then.
Killing Diamond Tiara would end the nightmare for all the ponies she bullies and this would be at least a good deed for society and for her victims, especially Scootaloo.
It's not a hard decision.

This is tricky.
My first instinct was to kill Fluttershy. I didn't even give it any though. She's sweet and caring and kind and everything that DT is not. But like you said, she probably would give her life if it meant she would go free. Also on top of that, despite being one of the most mean spirited bully characters in all of cartoon history, realistically, if I HAD to choose. I would always choose the child. No matter what. That's just my personal morality. I could never choose a full grown woman over a little girl. I just couldn't.
However, this isn't really that simple. Fluttershy is one of the elements of harmony and without her, the world would have ended like 4 times. She's important. Perhaps too important to let go. So even though I would choose a nasty little girl over a kind grown woman, in this case I would have to put the safety of the many over the lives of the few.
