Description " On top of the mountains in the north-west reside the inferno dragons. They are one of the most dangerous dragons across the land due to their tendency of being extremely hostile towards anything smaller than them. For this many fear to go near their natural habitats which are often covered in dark, black ash. The ash mostly comes from the volcanoes nearby, the origin of the rest of the ash is debatable.

Though they invoke fear in people, it is not the only emotion people feel towards them. Many covet them for their horns and hide, for the horns make splendid decoration and the hide is impenetrable by all, only excluding blades and arrows made of obsidian. Only select few mercenaries have the skill and funds to obtain this obsidian and even fewer have the resources and wisdom to forge it into weapons. What makes obsidian such an rare material is the fact that it is almost exclusively found near volcanoes and those are the favored habitats of the inferno dragons. Due to this, many scavengers stalk mercenaries who are hunting inferno dragons, hoping bad luck will befall upon them, so he or she can sell their obsidian weapons for a hefty price at the markets. Another special trait obsidian holds is the way it can withstand immense heat. Though using obsidian as material on shields or armor is far too expensive for anyone but kings, for you would have to be able to fully take cover behind the shield and the armor would have to cover your entire body, if you were unlucky enough to be in the way of the fire breath of an inferno dragon.
Inferno dragons have the ability to emit gas from their mouth and ignite it creating immense heat that will give a human being severe and lethal burns. Once they reach a certain age they seem to be able to learn to concentrate the gas into a long sharp cone increasing the range of their fire breath, how they do this is entirely unknown, for no one has ever captured one alive. Once they are able to breathe fire like this, the heat in the cone of fire will be so immense that it will flat out reduce a person to ash in mere seconds.

Much like most dragons, the inferno dragons have a treasure in their lair, most often it is almost right at the entrance of their cave, most likely as a trap for unwary mercenaries. Inferno dragons seem to be most attracted towards rubies and other precious gems that share the similar color. They do not seem to be attracted to gold, silver or other precious metals.
These dragons are quite poor fliers though, mostly they are able to only glide and as adolescents they cannot even do that for their wing membrane grows onto their backs only at later age. Because of this they mostly stalk their prey from mountaintops and swoop down when they see a potential target. While they lack in the ability to fly they make it up in the agility they have on the ground, they have been said to have been able to "run like the devil", but more credible sources say around 50 km/h. This coupled with the ability for short term flight makes them a hard to hit target even on the ground.
Ranged engagement is the most viable option against inferno dragons, though, they are able to close the gap very quickly if agitated, so mercenaries shouldn't entirely rely on ranged combat when engaging these dragons."

My attempt at a bit of a description
Alright so, the dragon you see here is a quite an old one, I just made a few tweaks onto it here and there, here's the original old one : [link]
Also the idea for the background came from , they're not army dudes, but close enough
Thanks for viewing/reading

The description is AWESOME. You should write a book on different dragon types! I love it.

And also, your backgrounds are amaaaazing and I love what you were able to do with this. And pfft, they're still humans, it doesn't matter if they are army guys or not.
Thanks for mentioning me, though you really didn't have to do that..

Thanks Reith heh, I'll be sure to continue making these descriptions for my dragon drawings, maybe I'll have enough of these someday to make a small virtual book or something someday I dunno, haha. Thanks Though your idea really inspired the background on this one, since when you mentioned the "den protecting" and "dude scorching" I immediately envisioned a volcanoey, mountaney background for this
Pfft, it's nothing really, if someone gives me concrete help or ideas I'll be always sure to credit them

Cool piece of work. I like the description. Love how you made the dragon color coordinate with the background rocks. And the sparse color that you use for the veins in the wing and the under belly. But what I really LOVE is the color of the scales on the crown of the dragons head and down its neck. Also, I love the volcano in the background the red you use looks like its expanding across the sky which was a great move.
And thank goodness I'm not that man.
