Description
"In the dark corners of Alluvia live creatures that individually resemble small white larvae, but when they congregate they form into mobile humanoid shapes. Some call them larvalids, but that word is foreign to most everyone, as the places where they occur are so out of reach and uninhabited that barely anyone has experience with them, and that is likely for the best. Some texts describe the places wherein they dwell as being damp caves and places where there is plenty of rot. The entrances to their abodes are usually covered in what seems like thick spiderwebs, however lacking the intricate designs that they tend to have.
Hitting them with bladed weapons does little to stop them, as they regrow the parts that have been cut off quite rapidly, blunt instruments however may be more effective against smaller forms of these, as they can smash their entire form into bits with one mighty blow. However there is a risk that if the strike isn't hard enough, it will merely be absorbed by the creature and do barely any damage to them, in worse cases, the weapon may even get stuck. Spears are quite out of the question, unless you intend to only kill one maggot out of the several thousand of them that are in each of these shapes. They have a great disdain for fire and intense light however and will try to cover from it. One should also be wary to not become grappled by one of them, as they can be very difficult to get off of you. Those who are taken by them often will be reanimated as one of their kind. Firebombs would be quite a reasonable way to dispatch them."
