Description

Inspiration for this came when I saw leaves flying in the wind and originally this drawing wasn't going to have the flame, but only have the person stand in the middle of flying leaves. I wrote a small background story for this piece as well, which came to my mind while I was drawing this, decided to write it here, despite my not so excellent writing skills, but eh, whatever! The story became a bit long considering this was only a drawing that was drawn in an half an hour.

...Now. Beware. For his next trick, he is going to set himself on FIRE!

*excited chatter is heard from the audience.*

Now I remind you, this is in no way, shape or form, faked. What you are about to witness is something spectacular that may shock you, so if there is anyone in the audience with a faint heart, please exit the room now.

*Nobody exits the room*

Please stay behind the red line that is on the ground, otherwise we cannot guarantee your safety. Now, silence please so he can concentrate before the act.

*A few seconds pass as the audience sits back and collectively stare at the man on stage. Then a small flame is seen in the mans hand and a few gasps are heard from the audience. Suddenly, the fire spreads through the mans body and he and the whole stage is engulfed in flames . The man falls onto his knees and slumps over. A few screams are heard from the audience as most of them intensely observe the scene that is unfolding before them. Men from backstage with fire extinguishers rush to the stage and extinguish the fire off of the man and the stage. He rises back to his knees and looks around confusedly *

Aaaaand he's aaaalright folks!

*The audience stands up and applauds as the seemingly unscathed man walks off of the stage*

 For the next perfor....

*The voice of the announcer disappears as the man walks backstage while escorted by some security personnel. Suddenly he is stopped by his manager*

What the hell happened over there!?

I don't know...

*he stares to the ground still seemingly abashed. The manager signals the security personnel to leave.*

Why didn't you extinguishing yourself? Are you trying to get yourself killed?!

*The manager stares at the man for awhile before letting a sigh*

I mean, you've been doing this for awhile now, and to be honest it is a bit worrying. You do still know how to, uh, turn off the flames, right?

*The man snaps his head upright and begins to stare to in the distance of the hallway they are standing in*

I do not know who I even am anymore.

*The man shakes his head and looks at the manager*

I don't even remember how I got here or where I live, every time I set myself on fire something just disappears from my brain, and...I don't know....

*The manager looks a bit surprised.*

But you do still remember who I am?

*The man looks at the manager and then away*

Yes. yes I do, Alex.

*A quick worried smile flashes on Alex's face*

Good...good. That's good to hear.

*Alex pats the man on the back and gives him something to wear. The man throws off his charred clothes and puts on the new clothes.*

You go back home and rest, I have ordered a cab for you as usual. The driver will assist you to your home.

*The man walks towards the exit as Alex watches him walk away*

*The man opens the backdoor and exits the theater*

*A familiar cab waits right in front of the backdoor, with a cab driver sitting in the yellow car, signaling for the man to come in.*

*He ignores this and walks past the cab. The cab driver rolls down the window.*

Hey, mister! Aren't you going to come in?

*The man looks towards him.*

I'd rather walk.

In this weather? It's pouring! Are you sure you can find your way back home? It's quite a walk in this weather.

*The man looks down*

Yeah...yeah I do remember.

Alright, good to hear your memory is starting to get better.

*The cab drives out of the alley and into the street away from the mans vision. He turns to the opposite direction where the cab went and starts to walk down the alley, as water continues to pour down onto him. The streets and alleys are barren and dark apart from a few neon signs here and there signifying closed stores and restaurants. Occasionally a siren could be heard from the distance.*

*He enters another alleyway, but unbeknownst to him, there were eyes watching him. Suddenly a man roars out of the shadows*

Looks like someone has lost their way, ain't that right fellas?

*The man looks around and hears laughter coming from behind him. Two men block his way from behind. A raggedy looking man jumps off of a dumpster and draws out a knife and walks towards the man*

heh heh heh. Well well well... ya know the drill, gimme all your money, or we'll takes ya life.

*The thug walks towards the man as a wicked smile spreads across his face. The man reaches out into the pockets of his jacket to try and search for anything of value. A wallet catches onto his hand. He throws the wallet to the ground in front of the thug. With a quick motion, the thug picks up the wallet . He hastily searches the wallet with his fingers, obviously desperately trying to find anything of value. Then he throws it onto the ground in frustration*

There is nothing here! What the fuck!

*The thug takes a few quick steps towards the man, he could also hear the thugs behind him closing in as well*

Wait. wait...I still do have something in my pocket

*The thugs stop almost right next to the man as he reaches into his other pocket.*

I still do have... something in my pocket...

*The man brings his fist out of the pocket and begins to stare at the thug in front of him.*

I still do have one precious thing in my pocket...

*the man extends his hand as to offer something to the thug. The thug cautiously takes a few steps towards him.*

I still do have one trick left for you.

*The man opens his fist and snaps his fingers...*

Thank you, I honestly think I spent more time on the text than I did on the drawing though, haha.
