Description "Almost there..."
The wind was blisteringly cold, sapping all heat from any parts of exposed skin, turning it red and blue. It was hard to breathe. During the brief moments of clarity which were provided when they spun around the column to the side that was shielded from the wind, during those short moments they would raise their eyes ever so carefully off of the steps to look at the surroundings. The landscape was undulating with forms of mist and clouds, layers and layers of it above and below. A thick ceiling filtering light with and below the clouds bobbed and moved, transformed and weaved into one another, so thick, one would think it would hold a person if they fell.

Then rounding back to the windy side. The first part was the second worst, where wind blows directly into you, then comes an easier part, where the wind blows you into the pillar. After that, the worst part, where the wind is blowing in your back, forcing you to lean backwards to retain your balance.

The dozen or so pillars rising from the clouds seem so close when viewed from here, when one begins to climb, there is always just a single pillar, the others are located all around the planet and all of them rise up here. All of them rise up to the side of the being that is impossible not to notice if one takes their eyes off of the steps.

"WATCH YOUR STEP!"

Losing balance, their leg slips. Their throat so dry instead of an alarmed yell or perhaps a cry, only a dry hack comes from their mouth. Just in time the second figure in the front manages to grab them. Their other leg now precariously dangling off of the steps and their other leg in a position akin to someone who has tried to climb up stairs that are far too big for them to climb. Gingerly they feel the column for support with their dangling leg and pull it back up onto the stairs. After taking a moment to steady their breath and stop shaking they continue upwards.

"Gods...I already regret ever coming up here."

That figure in the distance is Viime, the god of those who have no place. He is the god who watches over this strange space where the pillars, which are located all across the world, eventually lead into. If one were to climb up one of them, and then climb down another, they would certainly end up in some foreign place, far away from where they began. However, the distance between each makes it impossible for anyone to make the switch. In the distance, there is someone standing atop a pillar, two people in fact. They are almost identical to the two climbers.

It is known that one is rarely alone up in this place, there is always someone else, climbing up at the same pace as you. Sometimes it is just one, sometimes there are several. Once one begins to climb back down, they will do the same. While many will leave the place feeling no different, it is believed that one becomes two above the layer of clouds. When one climbs down, they may have indeed traveled someplace else, but will feel no different, apart from the beginning stages of frostbite on their extremities.
