DJringlin (DJRING lihn)

Allegiance: Neutral (Dominant race of Planet Keta)

The DJringlin are stocky patriarchal humanoids from the Earthlike planet Keta in the Dendrix star system, 575LY from Earth. They are the dominant of four native sentient species from Keta, and are proud and loud, with deep, snarling voices. They are rugged, boisterous and competitive. Often combative, DJringlin seem to love a good brawl. DJringlin are the race most people think of when Keta is mentioned, more specifically, people think of the DJringlin Pirate Clans.
A typical member of the race believes strongly in the concept of survival of the fittest, and loyalty to those stronger than you. Keta is a rough place, and the DJringlin are equally rough. The Clans and males within the Clans constantly squabble for their own place in the pecking order.

Proper DJringlin Clansmen like their females docile and submissive. Often, females who cannot be tamed are cast out of their Clan and sent to the Du’DJok Corps for the remainder of their lives. The Core is a fighting battalion of fierce females sworn to no man and no Clan, but avowed only to fight for the benefit of Planet Keta above all else. These women find purpose patrolling dangerous areas and are often the first to die in combat. A member of the Du’DJok Corps is commonly referred to as a t’pagh, as in “The fighting T’Pagh of the Du’DJok Corps”. They have no specific uniform, but can be identified by a distinct black facial tattoo. The more ornate the tattoo, the higher the t’pagh’s rank in the Corps. Removing this tattoo is punishable by death.
