Description
Phaelians are generally around 12' ( 3.65 meters) tall, and around a ton in weight. They are known to the Galaxy at large as "Sathoy", slaves of the Hytroc. For over 800 years, the Sathoy have been slaves to the Hytroc. The name Sathoy actually comes from the old Deyetan Hytroc word “Sat’haya”, meaning “slave”. Aeron, the single large moon of the Sathoy homeworld, KaghNoor is home to the Hytroc. When the Hytroc first landed on KaghNoor in 1799 AD, the Sathoy regarded the Hytroc as deities.

For their first hundred or so years of life, young Sathoy are savage, instinctive pack hunters, avoided by the adults. As they grow and mature, they begin to interact with and learn from the adults. By strict Hytroc Law, Sathoy over a certain age that display signs of higher brainpower are euthanized. It is commonly thought that as a Sathoy ages into their early to mid-300’s, their intelligence capacity, camouflage ability, and natural armor all increase drastically. If allowed, they become reclusive, and fade away into obscurity, using their camouflage and newfound cunning to avoid the Hytroc and everyone else. Unknown to the general population, the species is actually the ancient warrior race called Phaelians. After about 300-400 years of life, Sathoy awaken as Phaelian, and are welcomed among their forebears among the stars.

Those few who know of the truth of the nature of Sathoy and existence of the of the Phaelians have postulated why they do not attack and destroy the Hytroc, as Phaelian technology exceeds that of the Hytroc (and most other ‘fledgling’ spacefarers) immensely. The Phaelians are warriors. They see the adversity of growing to maturity under the oppressive thumb of the Hytroc as a culling of the weak, allowing only the most worthy Sathoy to survive to become Phaelian Warriors.
