Description
Xa’phyr (szaf EER)
Allegiance: Neutral
Squat, strong heavy gravity dwelling insectoid silk artists. Diligent and protective. Poetic souls forced to defend their home world from Aquillan occupation. 4'0", 200lb, Through a translator: “Would you like to buy this exquisite garment? I made it myself…”
Xa’phyr are exothermic diurnal arthropods, with six highly sensitive eyes and four nimble arms. Their natural carapace tones are highly colorful and varied. Xa’phyr voices are a symphony of melodious chirps, clicks and hums of varying tone and volume. When temperatures drop, Xa’phyr hibernate. They are herbivorous, with a hardy metabolism, able to digest the roughest (or even decomposing) plant material. The length of the Secitonian day is close to seven Earth days long, and the Xa’phyr only sleep 2 or 3 hours every 30 or so hours.
Reproduction is sexual, with the females laying one to three eggs. Gestation in-ovum is 30 days. (90% one egg, 8% two eggs, 2% three or more.)
As with other arthropods, Xa’phyr molt their exoskeletons periodically. On average, this occurs every 300-400 days.
