Spectacular shot. The perspective makes me feel like I'm floating over this, I like that a lot. I also like that you made the exposure nice and slow... it makes the waves look almost mist-like.

Great job

Actually when you're out there, you are kind of floating over it. If you have google earth, go here:

37°48'56.48"N
122°31'45.87"W

This shot is taken looking pretty much North West.

Dark and mysterious, love the effect of the slow exposure, really creates an unreal, spooky atmosphere here. See? It's not all bad if it's overcast.

Some of my best shots come from overcast days. Nice even lighting!

Very true--I usually like to shoot with sunlight, but I was just at Pt. Lobos when it was heavily overcast, and the colors of the flowers against the rocks and other vegetation really stood out. Can't wait to get my camera back from the shop!

What happend to it?

It overheated when I was shooting at a swim meet; kept locking up and doing nothing for several minutes, or even half an hour, at a time. It's been fine since, but both the camera shop I bought it at and Pentax recommended I send it in, because it's not supposed to get warm, let alone overheat, under any circumstances. Plus, the sensor had some dust on it, which showed up on exposures when I was using the zoom, and it's probably better that they clean it.

Ooooo, pretty.
And that Depth of Field is truly awesome.
It almost looks like the foam was Photoshopped in, but I don't really think it is.
It's not nearly as uniform as it could have been if it had been 'Shopped.
