Hmm... it's interesting how the clouds look more like mounds of smoke than fluffy cotton-clouds here.

Not for sale...sorry. Although if you fought a war with the Chinese, you might be able to get it cheap.

Dan these Tibetan shots are great. Might I ask, what took you to Tibet? This isn't the normal vacation spot.

Sure, I'm glad you asked. For the past year I have been doing some consulting work for my old employer (Agilent Technologies) in Chengdu, China. It's a pretty good and interesting gig. They fly me over there for a week to look at issues they are having in the new design center they're setting up. Chengdu is located in the middle of the Sichuan Province so I get to eat yummy (very spicy) Chinese food for a week. The first two times I went, I just went home afterwards. The guys in Chengdu kept telling me: "You should see some of the stuff around here, we have very beautiful mountains nearby" So, last time I made the big step of spending the weekend in Beijing on my way home. This time...I decided to take the short trip (less than 2 hours by plane) to Tibet. I've always wanted to see the Himalayas, but never really had the opportunity. And...this time I didn't either. But, I did get to see some 20,000+ ft mountains and some very interesting culture. So, to answer your question, it was not a super well thought out decision to go...it just seemed like the right thing to do. And, well it was! I had a great time.

Hey that is pretty damn cool. Wish I had an employer (old or new) that would send me to their corporation to do some consulting work, in a far off land, where the scenery is as awesome as that. A bummer you missed the Himalayas, that would have made some awesome landscape shots. What do you do with the images you take? Do you sell them or just keep them as souveniers (sp)?

then i suggest possibly making reference books with your scenery/landscapes and your nudes. its hard to find beautiful settings and when you do, you never have a camera with you, so having a book with reference photos is very helpful. you just solved my issue on creating a print account. i've been thinking of making one, but if your work isn't being bought, mine sure as heck won't sell either.

Dan,
You may have missed the spectacular sunset, but you may have gotten a stronger photograph in the process. It is such an incredibly massive and ornate palace, yet the fading liight suggests that it's day is past, its glory gone.

Hmm, Steve, sometimes you amaze me with your insightfulness. Indeed the glory is gone. The Chinese Government seems to be letting the place fall apart. When I went inside, that became obvious pretty quickly. It's quite sad actually.
