"I think that's the last of them Franny!" Ashley called out to her friend after impaling her fist through yet another Shadow. She sat on the beach, sand flying into the air from the impact of her sitting down. She yelped, quickly jumping up and tugging on her shorts as sand drizzled down her legs.

"That was a terrible idea.." Ashley shook her head in discomfort. If there was one thing she hated, it was sand in her shorts. Francesca walked over to her from a few meters away. Ashley noticed a green aura surrounding her arms in the shape of long blades. "Whoa, Francesca! You've been practicing that Emerald Wind technique haven't you?" Ashley exclaimed.

"Yes." The princess nodded her head as the aura slowly dissipated. "I really want to make this technique even stronger than my father did...not only that...I want to be able to keep up with Lightning."

"Ooooh I see! You don't just want to be a damsel in distress! I didn't know you were so feisty!" Ashley chuckled. Francesca couldn't help but laugh in return.

"Yes, well, now that we have finished with the Shadows on this island, we should go to the resort and meet up with the others." Francesca took out a small capsule and tossed it into the water. Upon hitting the water, it turned into a small boat. The girls hopped on the boat and made their way towards the resort.

Meanwhile...

Sebastian and Rdz were battling a group of Shadows on Crystal Island. The island got its name from a forest of crystal trees on the north side of the island. Rdz swung from tree to tree, slicing through the Shadows with ease using his tail.

"Sebastian!" Rdz called out to the little turtle. He was on the ground, cutting through Shadows with a pair of swords made of ice. Sebastian turned back towards the snake as he was falling. Nodding his head, he retracted inside his shell and rapidly spun around. Rdz grabbed the shell with his tail and quickly spun in a circle, creating a small vortex of water and ice, obliterating any Shadows than remained.

"Well that was a very efficient way to finish the job!" Sebastian exclaimed as he popped out of his shell.

"Indeed it was." Rdz stated. "This part of the island looks very beautiful. If the circumstances were different, I'd love to stay and admire the scenery."

"Yeah, Crystal Island's probably the best looking of the four islands." Sebastian said as he ran his hand along one of the trees. "Maybe we can come back here once this is all over. For now, we should head to the resort."

"Sebastian, is it just me, or does this seem TOO easy?"

"We always seem to be on the same page." The young turtle chuckled. "But yes, this all seems...planned or something. It feels like the more Shadows we fight, the more questions I have. We go from this giant attack on Oceania Central to...these smaller assaults on four islands and a resort? Why?"

"Well one thing is certain; the more Shadows we defeat, the closer we'll get to finding out who's behind all of this." Rdz looked around, making sure they finished off the last of the monsters. "Alright, it looks like we're done here."

"Alright! Let's go to the resort." Sebastian and Rdz made their way back to the beach and boarded a boat towards the resort.

At the resort, White and Barry were waiting at the entrance. There were barely any Shadows there when they arrived.

"Well that was easy. Hopefully the others managed as well as we did." Barry said as he cracked his neck.

"Hm..." White thought to himself the same thing Sebastian was thinking. Why was this so easy? While he was thinking, the others made their way to the resort. Everyone was here except for Haley and Leona.

"You guys cleared off the other...oh!" Ashley stopped herself mid sentence as she noticed Cynthia standing next to Lightning and Pyro. Ashley was only slightly shorter than the boys, but Cynthia only came up to their waist. "Hello there! Who are you?" Ashley crouched down to meet her at eye level.

"I'm Cynthia!" Cynthia reached her hands out and rubbed Ashley's cheeks. "You're fluffy!" She walked up with her arms stretched out, as if she wanted to be picked up. Ashley couldn't help but squeal, lifting the little bunny off the ground and into her arms.

"She is so precious! Did you boys find her on the island?!" Ashley inquired.

"Yeah, she popped out of a bush once we got on the beach. Lightning took care of what few Shadows were even on the island while I kept watch over her at the beach." Pyro answered. "She's apparently got amnesia. She can't remember anything before she was 15...oh yeah, and she's blind, but her senses are super good, so she can kinda see, but not with her eyes."

"Oh my gosh...we're taking her back to the castle with us! I will love her and keep her!" Ashley held Cynthia close, to which Cynthia simply replied by nuzzling her furry cheeks.

"Hold on a second..." Lightning looked around. "Where are Haley and Leona?"

"Maybe they're taking a while to finish the job? I know Haley is not the strongest of us in terms of fighting.." Francesca said sheepishly. She was hoping that comment did not upset Lightning.

"No, even taking that into account, Leona has enough strength to deal with however many Shadows appeared. Something isn't right.."

Suddenly, a loud boom could be heard from the distance. The group could feel the resort rumbling beneath their feet. Everyone turned in the direction of the sound, noticing smoke bellowing from the volcano.

"Mount Ashburn! Of course!" White exclaimed.

"Big brother, explain!" Ashley said as she held Cynthia close.

"I should have assumed this sooner; why there were so few Shadows here at the resort, and at the other islands! It was a distraction! Their target was Ashburn Island's volcano! They are attempting to make it erupt!" Without hesitation, Lightning jumped onto a boat and made his way toward the island.

"Lightning, wait up!" Pyro called after his brother. The rest of the group boarded their boats and followed after the young horse.

Meanwhile...

"Leona, are you ok?" Haley whimpered. She was wrapping a bandage around Leona's right arm, which had a large gash in it. Leona winced in pain as Haley tightened the bandage to keep any blood from seeping out.

"I-I will be fine Haley..I was not expecting this large of an assault. We must do something quickly, or else the volcano will erupt. We should be able to contact the others now that we are safe." Leona sighed. She reached for her communicator to contact the others, but as she did, a Shadow jumped out of a bush from behind.

"LEONA! LOOK OUT!" Haley screamed. She jumped in the way, pushing Leona down as the Shadow struck her in the back. The little horse let out a shriek of pain as the monster's claws left three nasty scratches on her back.

"Haley!!" Leona retaliated by grabbing Haley and holding her down as she blasted the beast with an orb of light energy. Immediately, it was flung towards a tree, evaporating into dust. Leona turned her attention back to her wounded friend, curled up in a ball in her arms and sobbing from the pain. "Don't worry Haley, we'll get you patched up." Leona held her close in her arms as she began to glow, illuminating as if she were a light bulb, slowly healing Haley's wounds.

"Leona! Haley!" Lightning cried out, slashing through foliage with his sword. His eyes widened when he saw the state they were in. He ran up to them, placing his hand on Haley's cheek. "Haley?"

"She took a hit from a Shadow for me, but she got hurt in the process. I do not have much light energy to heal her as I used up most of it holding off the Shadows. Is Francesca nearby?" Leona asked.

"She and the others will be here shortly, I hurried ahead of them because I was worried about you both. Looks like I had every right to be..." Lightning nuzzled his snout against Haley's, rubbing her head. "Don't worry sis, your big brother will take care of this."

"L-Lightning..thank goodness you're here.." Haley quietly said.

"Come on, we need to get you both out of here." Lightning guided the girls back to the beach, meeting up with the rest of the group.

"There are Shadows everywhere on the island!" Pyro exclaimed.

"I bet'cha there's one of those generator things like the one in Oceania! If we can find that, we should be able to clear out the whole island!" Ashley said.

"And I bet I know where it is.." Lightning turned his attention to the top of the volcano.

"Hold on bro, you're not going alone! This is my territory. If we're heading up to the volcano, you'll NEED me." Pyro stood beside Lightning, ready to face whatever was up there.

"I wouldn't want it any other way. Will the rest of you be ok down here?" Lightning turned to the group.

"As long as we stay here and defend ourselves from any Shadows, we should be fine." Rdz stated. Ashley put her head on Cynthia's head as she clutched her thighs.

"Don't worry Cynthia, I won't let anything hurt you. I promise." The large bear smiled at the nervous bunny.

"Alright Pyro, let's go." Lightning sped off toward the volcano with Pyro following close behind. The boys made their way to the top of the volcano, but neither of them were prepared for what they found at the top.
