This is, in my view, one of the best pieces I've ever done, both in technical demand and in the final outcome. I completed it in one 5 hour session, the longest I've ever worked on something in one go, and I don't think I'll be doing it again in a while, I was pretty much hallucinating at the end of it! Beautiful! These abstract shapes remind me of Islamic religious artwork, intended to tell the story of God without using images. It wasn't just images of the prophet Muhammad that were banned at this time, all images of people and objects were banned. Artists had to tell stories using abstract shapes. I personally think religious concepts are more accurately conveyed through geometric shapes, because when you look at these shapes you get the feeling that you are meant to see a hidden meaning in them.

I'm glad you appreciate just how amazing an achievement this is, because... I'm truly in awe. Honestly... I couldn't have pulled something like this off. I think the reason why this came out so good is because I did the general contour lines first, which took around an hour, and then I did the details. My approach before was to dive straight in and do the details before any planning.Β It will be tricky to come up with something this good again but I will try my hardest!Β
