Yep. Almost all of Santa Fe's experimental 4 cylinder locomotives were failures. Especially this one with the hinged flues. All the others they had, 2-10-10-2s, 4-4-6-2s, high stepped 2-6-6-2s, and even their proposed dual firebox 2-8-8-8-8-2 quadruplex were all doomed experiments.
