I haven't been on my Deviantart account in a year and I just came across your painting again in my favourites... and WOW this is breathtaking! it's amazing! I love it! There is so much detail and you use such amazingly bright colours! Do you sell paintings in the UK perchance?

Genious. I love the colors and the various things I find when I look at it. Brilliance!

Thanks. I at least try to intentionally hide one thing in every large painting I do. I think I'm kinda subconscious about hidden interaction. I use to love playing the eye spy game, and was a fan of those books when I was a kid. I remember making poster sized drawings with my own versions of those games. With hundreds of bombs you could find and tons of others hidden things. I think that kind of art gives new life to itself when something new is found. That's the kind of element I'm working on right now but with an infinite connection to new pieces. I might make a list of things to find. Even a list of things to find in a certain order and what you might see if you stray from that order.

I think that this is definitely one of those pieces that give birth to new ideas every time you look at it! Also, your eye-spy idea is wonderful. I think a lot of people would love to find their way through your imagery, and perhaps may even be willing to pay money for that kind of work.

I really like the vibrancy of the colors and the intricate line. Surrealism is always interesting to me. Reminds me a bit of pavel tchelitchew. I like the mixed media idea. Did you want the space behind the mixed media to remain shallow? Nice work.

What do you mean by shallow? ? ?? ?

I meant close to the surface...like a wall behind the figure rather than the feeling of something like a hallway.

Alex Grey to a level beyond ey! Good stuff. I would luv to see this work in person at some point, better yet meet the artist and talk 'concepts of passion' and art BS'ing and whatnots. HA!

Tell me friend, are you into conceptual meaning or just visual mystery?

Thenextyoshitaka In reply to WadeFurlong [2008-04-08 04:51:07 +0000 UTC]

both but it seems I'm better at visual mystery.

Dude, using the toys is genius! It totally gives it another dimension, literally - it's like this tripped out vortex of things coming in and out of its space
