The lampshade on his head is a brilliant touch, it ties the whole thing together with the cord on the antique desk and the books behind him with the single painting with a coresponding facail expression. The blank rolls of paper in the basket and plume. It's like a poleriod of my life, only the books and pens add color.

It's quite interesting, gets you thinking a lot about the whole aspect of the picture, what mainly does that is the color and tone of the picture, sets you off into pondering. Great piece.
