It was an epic day that changed the future of the world.

My Grandfather was trained for that day and was fully prepared for that day, and he was extremely fit. But before he could go on board the ship that his unit was assigned to.All of a sudden his hip broke, and since he was not able for the operation, he had to stay. And form the military reports, if he went had gone onto the ship, his unit would have been the first to land on Omaha Beach, and the chance that he would have perished would have been super high. So I am alive now because his hip all of a sudden just broke. And that is just one side of my family, there are a great deal of "coincidences" that happened to both sides of my family.

And without all of these WW2 "coincidences" would have been I would not be here.

We should always remember what happened, and the brave souls that fought against the forces of the uttermost evil.
(Sad that most people do not know that happened that day.)

Beautiful photo, only serves to emphasize their sacrifice. I was wondering about the cliffs above the beach, which look like a huge cloud of dust, but it's just the shadow on the beach. Great photo again. Semper Fi

Great restortion, and really nice and photo-vintage colours you chose (although I think it would best be featured in the "Photomanipulation" section, since it's not an original work, isn't it?)

I think the darkroom category has been taken down now? But if I remember correctly.. It's description said that it was not only for photos manipulated in darkroom, but for photos that could have been..
