Description The Typ VII Säbel is a heavy tank produced for the Imperial Völkian Army between 1942 to 1945 as a successor to the Typ VI.

Compared to the Typ VI, the Säbel features thicker armor, a longer hull and an enlarged turret to mount the large 10.5cm KwK 50 rifled gun. In addition it is fitted with an improved engine in order to compensate for the weight increase.

The tank depicted is of the command variant: the hull machine gun has been removed to make room to make room for more electronic equipment

Weight: 67 tonnes
Length: 7.46m
Width: 3.41m
Height: 2.93m
Maximum Speed: 40km/h

Main Armament: 10.5cm L/42 naval gun
Secondary Armament:
1 x .30cal machine gun

Based off of the Tiger and the Chi-Ri. I think this is my favourite tank. It just works ya know? Just those perfect angles and no large empty spaces on the hull. If only rendering it wasn't such a pain

Nice work.

But i wouldn't want a tank with unprotected tracks and wheels, so what i basically want is a tank with armored skirt.

I mean side skirts aren't that popular. They're rare on allied tanks and the Germans only used it on their Panzer IV and their Panthers to protect their thin side armor from Russian AT rifles, which later proved to be useful against HE and slightly useful against HEAT rounds.

Plus you can't armor the entire thing anyways.

I'm posting it later but I do have illustrations of the tank's armor and gun depression/elevation. There's more armor on the turret and the gun has 12° of gun depression

EDIT: also one more thing, early spaced armor can be detrimental to the tank when hit by HEAT, as they often give the shell the proper standoff distance to be most effective. US military determined layering your tank in tracks make the tank easier to pen, though it's good for crew morale

well, this tank reminds me of type 5 /Type 4 heavy  which is an oversized version of type 5 chi-ri  and Bigger than maus  by dimensions.

this makes me think its a Mini-type 4/5.

but i like it.

I did look at the Type 4 Heavy as reference for the turret a but, but for the most part the Chi-ri and the Tiger were my two principal basis
