Thats crazy! I just saw that on the front DA page. Didn't know it was yours until I got to my page. I was going to go back and comment on whoever did this. Nice! Love love love...did I mention LOVE the shading?

Woohoo, hooray for coincidences :]

And thank you for the kind words on the shading. I really need to start using better pencils since all that I've used so far is a cheapo click pencil with 0.5 lead (cause I'm a lazy-ass) on cheapo printer paper. The sad thing is that I have all the expensive paper and pencils but it's such a pain-in-the-ass to sharpen the leads for the lead-holder every time I make a mark or rule out and cut the paper so that it fits the scanner, etc.

But one day I'm sure I'll find the will to unlazy myself

Ok...hey, I have a clicky .5 too. Neon purple. I call him Barney. But, I got a couple of rad little numbers called Blending Tortillons. They are about the best fricken fracken thing since peanut butter met chocolate. Yes, I have issues. But, when you sketch those suckers blend like a charm. Oh- and the paper? We, out here in this computer galaxy, cant see its 'el cheap'o so I wouldn't worry about gett'n off your duff feerrr nuth'n. I am all for pro-laziness.

Blending tortillons! I remember using those for my Life Drawing classes a while back, but we used that on conte and newsprint. Man, that brings back memories... The instructor even taught us how to cut and create a blending tortillon with regular paper if we needed one in a jiffy

I bought those little suckers (never used them before....) I am on those like a crack addict. Oops...did I say that out loud. lol...

Do you know about Kneaded Erasers? Those to me are what Blending Tortillons to you. Me without that ugly lump of gray eraser is a scary, scary thing. I just can't draw with pencil, conte or charcoal without it.

I will literally tear up rooms looking for that ugly little bastard

WAIT....I think I have one of those fatherless guys.... YUP. I just looked on my desk. The grey little punks that run our life? He is laughing holding his little clay-like tummy in the plastic. I find, for some odd reason, that I want to bite it.

theopticnerve In reply to R8CHL [2010-04-30 00:02:05 +0000 UTC]

But he's so innocent! And he's your friend! All he wants to do is to erase the bad mistakes!

But open that sucker up. It's just fantastic since you can tear off a piece and shape it so that it just erases the tiniest thing or stretch it out and erase or lighten up big areas.

I do recommend that before you use it, warm it up by kneading it around. This ends up softening the eraser and makes it less stiff and more pliable. Also depending on the paper, it's best to "dab" at what you want to erase so that the paper tooth holds up longer (but that advice goes for any type of eraser I guess). These gray suckers last forever and it's great for shading :]

dang! that is some good junk. Mine is open. I just peeled the corner off cuz I get all anger-fied when I erase and those little "friends" get all bendy. But, now that I know I can mush him around like Gumby- he don't have a snowballs chance now!!! Whats funny is that my desk has a bunch off little kneaded babies all over it. Just rolling around with no Mama. I use those, not sure why I didn't use my giant kneaded eraser inside my head to figure out I could play around with shaping it! DERRRR! THNKS!!!
