Introducing the first artwork of my new series “RARE"
1/25 - Raven with Albino Raven

This series focuses on the rare genetic mutations Albinism and Melanism that occur in nature. I'II be producing a collection of 25 artworks showcasing the grace of birds and other creatures with this peculiar genetic trait.

So let's start with a little introduction,

Albinism

Albinism is a genetic abnormality that results in a complete lack of pigmentation in the feathers/fur, eyes & skin. The result is a completely white bird/animal with a pinkish tint on unfeathered/skin areas of the body caused by blood vessels showing through colorless skin.

Melanism

The presence of excessive amounts of melanins (dark pigments) cause light-colored feathers/fur to vary from brown to black. Melanism is less common than albinism and leucism.
