yeah that sucks! Is supposed to be one book... but they want to make more money so they split it in to 3 movies.

I think It also feature the appendixes (the full backstory of a character and setting.) from the book in the film. That could a reason as well.

Totally butting in on this conversation, but who cares XD That actually is why it was split into three movies. They're taking pretty much every scrap of information about Thorin and the other Dwarves' history and mushing it into three movies. Honestly, I think that's kind of impressive. And just think of LOTR. It was a three book series made into three movies and they missed and changed A LOT of things. I'd rather have the three movies for the Hobbit that are jammed with all sorts of information so I actually know what's going on, over one shitty movie that is missing a lot of elements and leaves me wondering what the hell I just watched. *shrugs* I dunno. I sort of inserted my oppinion all over the place XD But that's how I feel.

I agree, I'm glad that it's split into 3 film (cause hey 3 films instead of 1, what's not to love.) It's sort of like the last potter film (how it was split to 2 film to fill a lot more and not have it long to the point where you need to bring back intermission.)

I'm not going to lie, though, going back through the book and comparing what's happened in the movie, it makes me a bit nervous that they chose to split it in three. I mean, granted we get a whole bunch of information, but where they left off in An Unexpected Journey is about halfway through the book, so what are they going to do with the other two movies? I guess we'll just have to wait and find out, huh?

I fully expect Fili/Kili smut from the LOTR/Hobbit fandom sooner or later.

I love Kili, fell in love with him as soon as he appeared at Bilbo's door, but I can't believe I didn't notice that it's Aidan Turner that plays him, I've watched every episode of 'Being Human' and didn't click that he was Kili XD oh well
