They can get to be as long as 7 feet, but adults average about half of that, from what I understand. I've never kept them myself. This beauty belongs to a friend.

ive always loved GTPs but i have heard they are VERY agressive... so I will have to leave it till I have enough time and patience for an agressive snake!
great shot though, good job getting a good white background.

Beautiful. Are those blue markings naturally there, or did she paint those on?

Those are natural. Most snakes of this species have white or yellow markings instead, but she's a really nice one.

Kingsnake.com has a classified section for all species. That's where I got my first snake (Dorien). It's a pretty good place to start, although Fauna Classifieds is probably better. [link] Even if you don't find one on FC, check out their Board of Inquiry before ordering from anyone else. You can find out if the person you're ordering from is a good guy, or if they've ripped people off in the past.
As far as species, kingsnakes are a good choice, as are corn snakes. They can get to be around 5 feet, but are pretty thin, so they don't seem that big. If you need to go smaller, maybe try a Hognose or a Sand Boa.
I definitely recommend joining an online reptile forum no matter what species you get. Great place to learn the proper care and ask questions, and get fast help if something goes wrong. I can point you to some good ones if/when you get a snake.
That's her tail beneath her head. The green is the side, then the white is her belly, and then the shadow on the other side of her body. Kind of an odd angle.
