Description
Part of my studies for the work "The Pilgrim," I utilized India ink and ground tea leaves to create texture in the artwork. The scene depicts the Pilgrim's entrance into an abandoned yet elegant room, supported by menacing columns that seem to watch over him. I titled this piece "The Temple." Here is a fragment of the text I composed to accompany this part of the story:
"I find myself in an elegant yet empty room, supported by an extensive forest of imposing columns. Embedded in the walls of these pillars are silent faces that observe my arrival.
Here, the divine and the demonic converge. With the proper desecration, a vault can easily transform into pandemonium, much like a womb can become a tomb.
For each person, a unique path is created, their own Mystery to unravel. Whether it's through penance, redemption, or retribution, the fear of abandonment is rooted in the fear of death, and the shadows of the abandoned echo with resonance.
In the midst of a storm, the desire to reach land remains an unresolved ambition, urging the ship to press on. But the ship is fragile, and its burden is heavy with fear that sublimates in the waves of the present.
Suddenly, a dim, faint glow from the depths of the room catches my eye, beckoning me forward. Do I make a pact? A promise made in the dark?"
