This is my 6th and final WW1 Doggo - Representing the German Empire, it's the German Shepherd. Over 2 million German Soldiers went to their graves during the 4 years of the war. My great-grandfather also fought in the war and he lived with a bullet in his lung his whole life - the bullet was deflected by a spoon - otherwise it might have hit his heart. I LOVE art that depicts WW 1. Its such an overshadowed conflict and I am glad to see a it gaining popularity. Also, I love the detail on this, especially in the face and rifle. My only very small complaint is that you couldn't get the pickelhaube in there, but I am just a weirdo historian, so my complaint dose not matter. Still a great piece!

Aw, thank you! I decided to do this series because I am a great fan of The Great War channel on Youtube and I actually got most of my uniform information from there.
And don't think that I didn't try to get that pickelhaube in there, it's just that German shepherds have such narrow and flat foreheads that it just looked weird no matter how I drew it and decided to do without.
