Yu Yu Hakusho fanart yay!I do not know for certain how many tails Kurama has in fox form @_@. However, I'm assuming he has four, because I can't find any decent reference, and I'm FAR to lazy to go re-watch all my DVD's to look for it. A-heh.
I decided to try for a realistic look for Youko, mostly because I think his original manga/anime desgin is ugly. As much of a god Yoshihiro Togashi is, Youko looks like a four-tailed fluffy rat >_>. Background slapped on really quick because he looked stupid on plain white.

Haha he really does look like a four-tailed rat in that picture you mentioned... this really does look like a good fox! Love the shining, cheeky, greedy eye. Very Youko-ish.
There are three different references to his tail: two, four and seven. I suppose it would have to do with his age? Who knows!

You are so good at drawing realisticly. I especially like how you did the furr for the fox for of Kurama. Great job!
Q: The colors seem more nutural then your other pieces, do you prefer such a nutral color scheme?

Thanks! The fur is totally a photoshop CS brush that has been played with at different opacty. I MEAN YES I DREW ALL THE FUR BY HAND. TOTALLY.
And honestly, I really do usually like a brighter color scheme. However, Kurama is a silver fox, and the gold grass looked all pretty and contrasty, but I needed to neutralize it more or else it kinda overwhelmed the fox. Heh...
