Was listening to Battle Cry by Imagine Dragons and ended up drawing this. Sans loves the night sky, and you only ever see just how powerful he is on the genocide route. I was also reading this panel of Zarla’s Handplates. zarla.deviantart.com/art/You-w… . While Papyrus’s soul is like a bright sunny day, Sans feels the darkness inside and fears he’s like Gaster, but while Gaster’s soul has become a night without stars, the darkness in Sans’s soul has only made the stars shine brighter - strong and steady points of light to navigate by. Shift the metaphor a bit and maybe those stars he’s seeing are other suns, other souls, and he’s capable of perceiving and judging those characters, while all Papyrus can see is his own bright sunny worldview. Both brothers are strong in their own way.

I know this could be lots better. I’ve never used digital art before January, and most of my previous art experience was simple pencil drawings, so I’m just learning how to get the effects I want. If anyone has any good YouTube tutorials or other teaching media, let me know in the comments. Maybe I’ll come back in a year and redraw this to see if I’ve improved.
