Nychus admits to the stranger that he is lost, which is when the older wolf offers to take him home. So, cautious but far more afraid of being alone in the cold and snow, Nychus allows the wolf to pick him up and carry him off into the forest. It is scary, but at least he'll be home soon... Right?
