Description

If this gets marked as Mature/Sensitive content, (Which I don't see how that can happen, but DeviantArt is like that sometimes, because potatoes) know that there is absolutely no way that this is mature or sensitive content in any stretch of the imagination. If you cannot view this here on DeviantArt, it can be seen on my Twitter and my Tumblr without issue.

A mother Serperior is holding their newborn Snivy, who is reaching up to his mother, signaling to her that he wants to hug her head. Both of them are in an open, grassy field while sunlight is shining on Snivy's head as if he's being blessed by Arceus himself as he's being held by his loving, caring mother. Welcome to the world of Pokemon, my little Snivy!

They say that the loving embrace of a mother is one of the greatest and most precious feelings in the world! I wanted to depict that feeling to the best of my ability on a digital canvas and I absolutely love how this turned out!

While I was working on drawing this, I did some looking around on DeviantArt to see how other people handled drawing Serperior in this sort of pose and it turns out that this idea has been done before. Despite this, I wanted to give my own spin on it and it was purely coincidental that I came up with this idea, only to find that it's been done by several others before me. Regardless of the circumstances, I had a lot of fun drawing this and messing around with the shading and different brush styles to simulate lighting and the like, such as "Screen", "SVG Screen", and "Multiply"! I especially love how the standard pen brush and the airbrush can work hand in hand to really make the shading pop that much more and create a high-quality, professional-looking render of any given image or subject!
