I miss that game. One of the most nostalgic NES games ever; wish it'd stay in its classic formula. Btw, am I the only one who cracks up everytime I crash, especially on one of those really tall slopes and go all the way down? Oh man, that was hysterical. But it was also ear-raping when I got overheat..! Ergh!

I grew up with the 64 version but I know there was a secret game resembling this AND offering the NES game at the same time.
Crashes in OG Excitebike used to aggravate me. Also I do agree on how loud the overheating sound can get.

Plus the AI's irritating, and it can be hard to get 1st. Btw, how'd you bring it up? Do you have a NES classic? First time I heard you mention it.

Huh, interesting. If only F-Zero could have this. Like a remake of GX would let you access its predecessors, I mean some Sonic games do this. Ergh, I just wish potential wasn't wasted.

Interestingly, quite a few F-Zero fans want a F-Zero Collection. Of course, I will always advocate for a 100% new game first, but that is still a justifiable idea, considering that plenty of game series did have a comeback after releasing a historic game collection.

Well, at least we have a host of developers trying to fill in that hole. That one guy on reddit who made the infamous F-Zero-like fangame, several F-Zero mods, and of course, Super Pilot to name a few. We aren't completely out of the fight yet. Plus, also remember that F-Zero is still the most wanted Nintendo IP currently. Fan demand does matter, even if you think otherwise. Else why would Ridley and King K. Rool be in Super Smash Bros.?

Yeah fans got there prayers answered there, but I mostly feel those were Sakurai's choices, besides the World of Light started w/ his favorite Kirby; I just feel people are biased, even creators. And...I doubt that F-Zero's the most wanted since we always get Mario, PokΓ©mon, FE, FF, etc. Also, if there IS an F-Zero game, I wish people won't screw it over like w/ Starfox and Metroid...

I mean you do have to look it this way, everyone's got some form of bias. Take me for example, those who talk with me know I am ready to root for (almost) any kart racer--or racer in general--that isn't Mario Kart. Mostly that's because I feel Mario Kart stole F-Zero away (like how Sonic was at one point replacing all the other SEGA IP). It's somewhat lessened but I still have a strong bias against it.Β
The other thing is, it's been documented that Nintendo wants to do Pikmin, but Mario and the usual suspects make more money, so they have financial bias. I'd still want them to take the leap and dish out a new Pikmin or F-Zero. I mean, I'm not saying the popular stuff don't deserve their status, but I just think they're not as interesting compared to well, the others. Not to mention, it still feels like a disservice since Nintendo makes it hard to find other games whose characters are already in Smash, Nintendo's portal to it's entire history.
No doubt though, the sci-fi series never get the respect they deserve, and the bias everyone shares? It has a hand in that. Sure something we'd rather see less of we may actually enjoy if we open up to it or find a similarity to something we cherish. But that comes with overcoming the bias. And that usually is made easier when a fan who believes "Nintendo having something for all fans" is a lie is finally able to get an updated version of a game they had been waiting far too long for--provided the game is fun, good and most importantly, not confined to a singular playstyle.Β
Metroid Prime 4 I'm hoping we hear of sooner rather than later. Delaying a game is fine if it means things are going to help the game. Some delays made things worse or weren't enough. Duke Nukem and Silent Hills fans know this kind of pain.Β
But I'm pontificating at that point. Thing is, I think when a new F-Zero game comes up, it will sell well. First of all, because by then it'd be FINALLY available and easier for Nintendo players to access. It'll pull in fans of Smash (since many know Falcon through Smash and F-Zero as a whole through that method), and it's core community is definitely going to show up for it. Nintendo doing F-Zero a disservice with a poor release after a very painful and frustrating wait would probably disillusion a good chunk of fans (keep in mind almost every big Nintendo video will have someone mention F-Zero. That's how big the demand is. Just gotta look through comments. Like on the Xenon Racer Video for Switch trailer). I've seen this before so I can assume that could happen if it does get screwed over, which I'm hoping isn't the case.
