Apollo is a tough and stern dog who rarely shows pity and won't hesitate to fight. His history before The Ring of Fire is unknown since he never wants to discuss it and keeps to himself most of the time, the most anyone knows about him is that he was found battered and unconscious after what appeared to be an ice walker attack. He is near-blind in his right eye due to the attack as well. He is also very cynical of humanity and has zero interest in dealing with humans at any capacity, especially after having to fight many of them for his life.
